Memories are strange.
They do not knock
before they come.
They just appear.
A song can bring you back.
A place can bring you back.
A smell can bring you back.
Even a small breeze
can bring back
a whole world.
And for a few seconds,
I forget
that you are gone.
I feel like
you are still near me.
Then the truth comes back.
And the silence
feels even deeper.
